Leadenhall Market, in the City of London, was used as Charing Cross Road, along which Harry and Hagrid make their way to the Leaky Cauldron. As they walk, Harry asks Hagrid, "Can you find all this in London?", to which Hagrid replies, "If you know where to go."

What is now the Glass House Optician's Shop, in Bull's Head Passage, Leadenhall Market, was at the time an empty shop. The filmmakers, therefore, painted its exterior black and used its door as the entrance through which Harry and Hagrid step into the Leaky Cauldron.

The interior of Gringotts Bank, which Harry and Hagrid enter in order to access Harry's money, was, in fact, the interior of Australia House. Although it's not open to the public, you can look in through the door and recognise the chandeliers and the marble banking hall.

It was in London Zoo's Reptile House that the scene was filmed in which a Burmese Python speaks to Harry and he discovers that he can converse with snakes - or speak "Parseltongue." The enclosure that was used for the filming is, in fact, home to the Zoo's Black Mamba.

Although Harry Potter and his friends actually board the Hogwarts Express at King's Cross Station, the exterior shots of King's Cross Station were actually of the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel, which the filmmakers felt looked more like King's Cross than King's Cross did!

Although there is now a trolley embedded in the wall at the "supposed" location of Platform 9¾, at King's Cross, the actual wall through which the wizarding community passed in order to reach the Hogwarts Express was between Platforms 4 and 5 of King's Cross Station.

The Weasley family and Harry travel to King's Cross in the Ford Anglia on which Arthur Weasley has cast a spell to make it larger inside than outside. When they arrive, they park the car on the forecourt of the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel, to the right of the arch.

Although the Weasleys have no problem passing through the wall to reach Platform 9¾, Harry finds himself unable to do so. When his trolley simply crashed into the wall, a railway porter gives him a suspicious look. Harry tells him that he lost control of the trolley.

Unable to pass through the wall to reach Platform 9¾, Harry and Ron return to the Ford Anglia. Ron then has the idea of using it to catch up with the Hogwarts Express, so they fly off over this clock tower over St Pancras Station, which again was used as King's Cross.

Having boarded the Knight Bus, Harry is whisked all over London. At one point, the bus drives over Lambeth bridge where it encounters two oncoming double-decker buses. The driver pulls a lever, causing the Knight bus to flatten and squeeze between the approaching vehicles.

The location of the Leaky Cauldron was magically moved to Stoney Street, alongside Borough Market for this film. The Knight Bus pulls up by the railway bridge that passes over the street, causing car alarms to go off, and Harry climbs off and enters the Leaky Cauldron.

As the Knight bus screeches to a halt outside the Leaky Cauldron, it shunts the back of a car parked in front of this shop, which, for the film, was renamed, "The Third Hand Book Emporium." The sign, which can be seen over the car, reads, "Old Rare Books Bought and Sold."

Early on in the film the Advance Guard of The Order Of The Phoenix arrives at 4 Privet Drive to escort Harry to 12 Grimmauld Place. They fly by broomstick, in formation and their route brings them down over London's Docklands from where they fly along the River Thames.

Having swooped down from the clouds over Docklands, the members of the Order's Advance Guard fly along the Thames and head for Tower Bridge. Having passed it, they are then shown flying very close to the side of HMS Belfast, the grey battleship to the right of the photo.

Harry and Mr Weasley pass through Westminster Underground Station en route to Harry's hearing at the Ministry of Magic. As they exit the station, one of the ticket barriers gives Mr Weasley problems as he tries to exit through it. Harry, however, helps him pass through.
